How to prevent filter bag clogging?

Filter bag clogging is one of the most common problems in baghouse dust collection systems.It will lead to increased system pressure drop,reduced airflow,low dust removal efficiency,high energy consumption and shortened service life of filter bags.Effective preventive measures can greatly keep filter media breathable and maintain stable operation.
First of all,selecting proper filter bag materials is the fundamental solution.For working conditions with high humidity,sticky dust,oily dust and fine particulate matter,PTFE coated filter bags are highly recommended.Their smooth membrane surface has excellent non-stick performance,which can avoid dust penetration into fabric fibers and reduce dust cake hardening.For ordinary dry dust environments,high-quality polyester filter bags with reasonable fabric density can also lower blocking risks.
Secondly,reasonable pulse cleaning parameters play a key role.Adjust appropriate compressed air pressure,cleaning interval and pulse duration.Excessively low pulse pressure cannot remove accumulated dust completely,while over-high air pressure will damage fiber structure.Optimizing cleaning cycle ensures timely dust shedding without extra wear on filter bags.
Controlling flue gas conditions is also essential.High moisture content in exhaust gas easily causes dust to agglomerate and stick to bag surfaces.Preheating treatment,dehumidification equipment or adding pre-filtration devices can reduce water vapor content.Besides,pre-filtering large particles and abrasive dust can decrease surface deposition.
Proper equipment matching and daily maintenance also help.Installing suitable air inlet ducts to distribute airflow evenly can avoid local dust accumulation.Regular on-site inspection,timely elimination of abnormal working conditions and reasonable operation management all effectively prevent continuous clogging of dust collector filter bags.
