Differences Between U-Type,Tubular and Shaftless Screw Conveyors&Their Application Scenarios

Screw conveyor is widely used bulk material conveying equipment in environmental protection,metallurgy,chemical industry,building materials and dust removal industry.U-type,tubular and shaftless screw conveyors have obvious differences in structure,sealing performance,material adaptability and application environment.Choosing the right type can greatly improve conveying efficiency and reduce equipment failure.The detailed differences and applicable occasions are as follows.
1.Structural Differences
U-Type Screw Conveyor
It adopts open U-shaped trough shell with upper open structure.The spiral shaft is supported by bearings on both ends and middle hanging bearings.It is convenient to observe internal operation,maintain and clean the equipment.The sealing performance is ordinary,with partial dust emission.
Tubular Screw Conveyor
The whole machine is fully enclosed circular tubular shell.The spiral is completely sealed inside the pipeline.Good overall airtightness,no dust leakage,compact structure and small occupied space.
Shaftless Screw Conveyor
Different from traditional screw conveyors,it has no central solid shaft.Only flexible spiral blade is adopted,driven by end power.There is no intermediate hanging bearing inside,no internal blocking structure,and the whole trough body is open or closed.
2.Differences in Material Adaptability
U-type screw conveyor
Suitable for dry powder,small particle,non-viscous bulk materials.Poor adaptability to wet,viscous,caking and fiber materials,easy to cause blocking.
Tubular screw conveyor
Suitable for dry powder,granular materials with good fluidity.It is not suitable for high-viscosity and easy-caking materials,which is easy to cause internal blockage inside the closed pipeline.
Shaftless screw conveyor
Excellent adaptability to materials.It can convey viscous,wet,mud-like,fibrous,winding,easy-caking and miscellaneous materials which are difficult for ordinary screw conveyors.No shaft structure avoids winding and blocking fundamentally.
3.Performance Differences
Sealing performance:Tubular>Shaftless>U-type
Anti-blocking ability:Shaftless>U-type>Tubular
Maintenance convenience:U-type>Shaftless>Tubular
Conveying distance:Tubular is more suitable for long-distance and multi-angle conveying;U-type for medium distance;shaftless for medium and short distance conveying.
Dust leakage:U-type is easy to leak dust;tubular is fully sealed without leakage;shaftless has good sealing after closing.
4.Respective Application Scenarios
U-Type Screw Conveyor
Most commonly used conventional model.Mainly applied in dust collector ash hopper discharging,conveying dry fly ash,cement,mineral powder,grain and other dry loose materials.Widely used in dust removal system,concrete mixing station,feed processing.Convenient for daily inspection and maintenance.
Tubular Screw Conveyor
Ideal for occasions with strict environmental requirements,dust-free workshops,occasions requiring fully closed conveying.Suitable for upward,horizontal,inclined multi-angle layout long-distance conveying of dry powder materials.Used in chemical powder,fine mineral powder,food powder conveying with high sealing demand.
Shaftless Screw Conveyor
Special model for difficult materials.Mainly used for conveying sludge,sewage mud,wet material,straw fiber,garbage residue,viscous filter cake and materials easy to wind and cake.Widely used in sewage treatment,environmental protection sludge treatment,waste material transportation.
Summary
Choose U-type conveyor for common dry powder and easy maintenance;choose tubular conveyor for fully sealed long-distance dust-free conveying;choose shaftless conveyor for viscous,wet,fibrous and easy-blocking materials.
