Causes of Frequent Motor Burning and Overload of Electric Ventilation Butterfly Valve

Electric ventilation butterfly valve is widely used in dust removal ventilation pipelines,flue gas systems and air duct adjustment.Motor overload,overheating and frequent burning failures will cause frequent equipment shutdown,increased maintenance cost and unstable system operation.Combined with on-site operation faults,the main causes and corresponding solutions are summarized as follows.
Main Causes
Excessive mechanical operation resistance
A large amount of dust,ash accumulation and impurities adhere between the valve plate and valve body.In addition,valve plate deformation,shaft rust and jamming increase the overall rotation resistance of the valve.The motor is in long-term overload operation,resulting in overheating and burning of motor coil.
Improper torque adjustment of electric actuator
The output torque of the electric actuator is set too small,or the limit switch is not adjusted properly.The valve plate is blocked during opening and closing,and the motor continues to force operation without power-off protection,leading to overload heating and coil damage.
Severe wear and failure of valve shaft bearing
Long-term operation causes bearing abrasion,dry grinding,lack of lubrication and rust clamping.The rotation flexibility of the valve shaft becomes poor,the load of the driving motor increases sharply,and overload fault occurs frequently.
Foreign matter clamping inside the valve body
Slag,dust blocks and hard sundries are stuck between the valve plate and valve body wall.The valve cannot rotate smoothly during opening and closing,which causes instant heavy load on the motor and burns the motor winding.
Aging and deformation of valve plate
High-temperature flue gas baking,corrosion and deformation of valve plate lead to eccentric rotation.Unbalanced stress during rotation increases motor load and causes continuous overload operation.
Unreasonable power supply and electrical faults
Abnormal power supply voltage,three-phase current imbalance,poor circuit contact,short circuit hidden danger and aging of internal wiring will cause abnormal heating of motor and accelerated burning of coil.
Frequent start and stop operation
Excessively frequent opening and closing actions cause frequent impact current of the motor.Cumulative heat generation leads to insulation aging of motor winding and burning failure.
Poor heat dissipation of actuator
The working environment is high temperature,dusty and airless.The heat generated by the electric actuator motor cannot be dissipated in time,resulting in continuous high temperature operation and coil burning.
Solutions
Regularly clean ash accumulation and impurities inside the valve body to reduce rotation resistance.
Readjust the output torque,opening and closing limit of the electric actuator reasonably.
Lubricate valve shaft bearings regularly,and replace severely worn bearings in time.
Remove foreign matters clamped inside the valve body to ensure flexible rotation of valve plate.
Correct deformed valve plate or replace damaged valve components.
Inspect power supply circuit,voltage stability and electrical wiring to eliminate hidden electrical faults.
Reduce excessive frequent start-stop actions and set reasonable operation interval.
Improve ventilation and heat dissipation conditions of actuator working environment.
