How to Select Baghouse Dust Collector According to Dust Characteristics

Baghouse dust collector is the most widely used environmental protection dust removal equipment.Different dust has distinct physical and chemical properties such as particle size,humidity,viscosity,abrasiveness,corrosiveness and temperature.Reasonable selection of filter material,bag type,cleaning mode,structure type and operation parameters according to dust characteristics can directly ensure dust removal efficiency,extend service life of filter bags,reduce equipment failure and operating cost.The detailed selection basis and key points are summarized as follows.
1.Selection According to Dust Particle Size
Fine dust below 1μm is easy to penetrate filter cloth and cause emission exceeding standard.Coarse dust has strong scouring and abrasion effect on filter bags.
For ultra-fine dust,select dense fabric filter bags with good surface filtration performance.Adopt high-efficiency filter material to improve interception effect.
For large particle and abrasive dust,select thickened,wear-resistant filter material and pre-separation structure to reduce direct impact abrasion on filter bags.
2.Selection According to Dust Humidity and Viscosity
Wet and viscous dust is easy to cake,stick to filter bags,block air passages and cause poor pulse cleaning effect.
For low-humidity dry dust,conventional polyester needle felt filter material is applicable with normal pulse cleaning system.
For high-humidity,sticky and easy-caking dust,choose smooth surface hydrophobic filter material,increase pulse injection intensity,and configure preheating or insulation device for the equipment to prevent dew formation and bag sticking.
3.Selection According to Dust Abrasiveness
Hard mineral dust such as ore powder,slag powder and cement dust has strong abrasiveness.Long-term scouring will quickly wear and break filter bags.
For highly abrasive dust,select thickened wear-resistant filter material,increase air inlet buffer structure,and set ash blocking plate inside the dust collector to slow down airflow velocity.
For low-abrasive light powder dust,conventional filter material can meet normal working requirements.
4.Selection According to Dust Temperature
Flue gas temperature directly determines the selection of filter material and overall equipment structure.
Normal temperature dust below 130℃:Polyester needle felt filter bag is preferred with cost-effective performance.
Medium temperature 130℃~180℃:Needle felt material with temperature resistance treatment is required.
High temperature above 180℃:Aramid,PTFE high temperature resistant filter material must be adopted,together with heat dissipation and cooling pipeline.
5.Selection According to Dust Corrosiveness
Acid,alkaline and chemical corrosive dust will corrode filter fiber,metal shell and framework.
For acid and alkaline corrosive dust,select corrosion-resistant PTFE filter material and anti-corrosion sprayed valve body and shell.
For ordinary non-corrosive dust,conventional carbon steel structure and common filter cloth are sufficient.
6.Selection According to Dust Bulk Density
Light floating dust is easy to re-entrain after cleaning;heavy dust accumulates rapidly at hopper bottom.
For low-density floating dust,select reasonable air filtration velocity and optimized pulse interval parameters.
For high-density heavy dust,optimize ash hopper structure and unloader matching to ensure smooth ash discharge.
7.Overall Comprehensive Selection Principles
Determine filter material grade according to dust temperature,viscosity and corrosion property.
Confirm filtration wind speed based on dust particle size and abrasiveness.
Select appropriate pulse cleaning mode according to dust adhesion performance.
Configure supporting ash unloading and anti-blocking structure according to dust accumulation characteristics.
Ensure overall operation stability and long-term stable emission standard.
