High Temperature Rotary Airlock
The High Temperature Rotary Airlock,a specialized variant of the standard rotary airlock valve,is engineered to withstand extreme operating temperatures,making it an essential component in industrial processes involving hot bulk materials.Unlike conventional rotary airlocks,this device is specifically designed to maintain airtight sealing and reliable material transfer even in high-temperature environments,typically ranging from 300°F to 1000°F(149°C to 538°C),depending on the model and material configuration.
Its robust construction is tailored to resist thermal expansion,corrosion,and wear caused by high temperatures.The valve housing and rotor are commonly fabricated from high-grade heat-resistant materials,such as stainless steel(316L,321,or 347),inconel,or Hastelloy,which offer excellent thermal stability and resistance to oxidation.Specialized high-temperature seals—including graphite,ceramic,or metal bellows seals—replace standard rubber seals to prevent leakage and ensure long-term performance under extreme heat conditions.
The operating principle of the High Temperature Rotary Airlock is similar to that of standard rotary airlocks but with modifications to accommodate thermal stress.A motor-driven rotor with evenly spaced vanes rotates within the heated housing,creating sealed pockets that transfer hot bulk materials(such as ash,slag,molten salts,roasted ores,or hot powders)from upstream equipment(hoppers,silos,or furnaces)to downstream conveyors or processing systems.The tight tolerance between the rotor and housing is maintained through precision machining and thermal compensation designs,preventing air leakage and maintaining system pressure integrity.
