Kiln Dust Collection System
A kiln dust collection system is an integrated industrial air pollution control setup designed to capture,filter,and treat high-temperature dust-laden flue gas generated during kiln operations(e.g.,cement,lime,ceramic,metallurgical kilns).It ensures compliance with strict emission standards,protects workplace health,and recycles valuable dust by-products.
Core Functions
Flue Gas Cooling:Cools high-temperature exhaust(often 150–400°C)to a safe range for filter media,typically via heat recovery boilers or natural cooling.
Dust Capture:Collects coarse and fine particles(including heavy metals and harmful micro-particles)through multi-stage purification.
Emission Control:Reduces outlet dust concentration to below 10mg/m³or even ultra-low levels(<5mg/m³)to meet environmental regulations.
System Protection:Prevents dust erosion and corrosion of fans,ducts,and downstream equipment.
Main Components&Working Principles
Preliminary Dust Removal Stage
Cyclone Separator:Uses centrifugal force to remove large,abrasive particles(≥5μm),lowering the load on subsequent filters.
Spark Trap/Heat Exchanger:Extinguishes sparks and cools flue gas to avoid filter damage.
Primary Filtration Stage
Baghouse Filter(Most Common):Utilizes high-temperature resistant filter bags(PPS,PTFE,or P84 materials)to trap fine dust.Pulse-jet cleaning removes accumulated dust automatically.
Electrostatic Precipitator(ESP):Charges particles via high-voltage electric fields and collects them on plates;efficient but less effective for high-resistance dust.
Electrostatic-Bag Composite Filter:Combines ESP and bag filtration for high efficiency and low resistance.
Auxiliary Systems
Induced Draft Fan:Provides negative pressure to draw flue gas through the system.
Dust Discharge&Conveying:Screw conveyors or air slides transport collected dust for recycling or disposal.
Automatic Control System:Monitors temperature,pressure drop,and emission concentration;adjusts operation in real time.
