A Bag Filter Dust Collector,commonly referred to as a baghouse,is a high-efficiency air pollution control equipment widely used in industrial production.It utilizes woven or felted fabric filters(filter bags)as the core filtering medium to capture and separate particulate matter(dust)from dust-laden gas streams,ensuring that the discharged gas meets environmental emission standards.Its filtration efficiency can reach more than 90%,making it suitable for handling various types of dust,including fine,sticky,and high-concentration dust.

Core Operating Principle

The operation of a bag filter dust collector follows a cyclic process of filtration,dust cake formation,cleaning,and dust discharge,with each stage closely linked to ensure stable and efficient operation:

1.Filtration Stage:Dust-laden gas is introduced into the lower part of the baghouse through the air inlet.Under the suction of the fan,the gas flows upward and passes through the filter bags.The fabric of the filter bags acts as a barrier,trapping dust particles on the outer surface,while the cleaned gas penetrates the fabric,enters the clean air chamber,and is discharged through the air outlet.

2.Dust Cake Formation Stage:As filtration proceeds,more and more dust accumulates on the outer surface of the filter bags,forming a thin layer of dust(called a"dust cake").The dust cake itself has a fine pore structure,which further enhances the filtration effect,enabling the capture of even smaller dust particles and maintaining high filtration efficiency.

3.Cleaning Stage:With the continuous accumulation of dust cake,the resistance(pressure drop)of the filter system increases,which affects the air volume and filtration efficiency.When the pressure drop reaches a preset value(usually 1200–1800 Pa)or according to a fixed time interval,the cleaning system is activated.Common cleaning methods include pulse jet cleaning,reverse air cleaning,and mechanical shaking cleaning,among which pulse jet cleaning is the most widely used due to its high efficiency and gentle cleaning effect.

4.Dust Discharge Stage:The dust dislodged from the filter bags during the cleaning process falls into the dust hopper at the bottom of the baghouse under the action of gravity.Then,it is discharged out of the equipment through a discharge device(such as a star discharger)for centralized collection and disposal,avoiding secondary pollution.

Key Components

A standard bag filter dust collector is composed of multiple functional components,each playing a crucial role in ensuring the normal operation of the equipment:

-Filter Bags:The core filtering element,usually made of polyester,PTFE,fiberglass,or other materials.The selection of material depends on the temperature,humidity,chemical properties of the dust-laden gas,and the particle size of the dust.

-Bag Cage:A supporting structure inserted inside the filter bag to prevent the bag from collapsing due to negative pressure during filtration.It is usually made of galvanized steel wire or stainless steel wire,requiring a smooth surface without burrs to avoid damaging the filter bag.

-Housing:The main body of the equipment,divided into a dirty air chamber(for dust-laden gas)and a clean air chamber(for filtered gas),with good airtightness to prevent gas leakage.

-Cleaning System:Including pulse valves,air bags,spray pipes,etc.For pulse jet cleaning,high-pressure compressed air(0.3–0.6 MPa)is sprayed into the filter bags through pulse valves to shake off the dust cake.

-Dust Hopper:Located at the bottom of the housing,used to collect the dust dislodged during cleaning.It is usually designed with a conical shape to facilitate dust sliding and discharge.

-Control System:Mostly controlled by a PLC,which can automatically monitor the pressure drop,control the cleaning cycle and time,and realize automatic operation and fault alarm.
